PROMISE IST 507100
(IP)

Product Lifecycle Management and Information Tracking using Smart Embedded Systems
PROMISE is an integrated project that aims to develop a new generation Product Information Tracking and Flow Management system. This system will allow all actors that play a role during the lifecycle of a product - managers, designers, service and maintenance operators, recyclers - to track, manage and control product information at any phase of its lifecycle-design, manufacturing, MOL, EOL-at any time and any place in the world.

For S-TEN, PROMISE seems to be a suitable partner to receive input on RFID technology and to discuss issues of best practise advice. A contact has already been established.

WS2; IST 004308
(Specific Support Action)

Web Services and Semantics
The goal of WS2 is to support the W3C in administering its web services related standard activities, their wide adoption in the European industry and their evolution toward achieving efficient and interoperable communications within distributed software, as well as rich and complex interactions, exploring use of Semantic Web technologies.

For S-TEN, WS2 seems to be a suitable partner to discuss the topic of Semantic Annotations for WSDL (WSDL-S).

ASG; IST 004617

Adaptive Services Grid
The goal of Adaptive Services Grid project is to develop an architectural blueprint and a proof-of-concept prototype of an open development platform for adaptive and reliable matchmaking discovery, composition and enactment. To achieve its goal, ASG addresses scientific and technological issues making use of the knowledge and expertise of major European research institutions with significant contributions from the software, telecommunications, and telematics industry.

ASG is a first quality source of know how in the field of Semantic Web Services. Besides, ASG does groundwork, a possible follow-up project of S-TEN might use to integrate, in a situation dependant, way distributed and diverse data sources into an ad-hoc network with services configured in-flight

Knowledge Web IST 507482
(NoE)

Knowledge Web
Knowledge Web foresees a long way to go to transfer the semantic web from an academic adventure into a technology provided by software industry. In this context, it is the mission of Knowledge Web to strengthen the European software industry in one of the most important areas of current computer technology: Semantic web enabled eWork and eCommerce.

For S-TEN, Knowledge Web is a valuable source of information concerning Semantic Web technologies.

REWERSE IST 506779
(NoE)

REWERSE
The objective of REWERSE is to establish Europe as a leader in reasoning languages for the Web.

REWERSE may supply S-TEN with advice for a software base for its envisaged tool for visual rule modelling

(Coordination action)

AgentLink III
AgentLink III will acted as a unifying focus for agent-based activities in a vast range of different domains including the Semantic Web, where agents may be needed both to provide services, and to make best use of there sources available. As with AgentLink and AgentLink II, the long-term goal of AgentLink III is to put Europe at the leading edge of international competitiveness in this increasingly important area.

AgentLink III is for S-TEN an important resource of experience and know how for agent technology.
